deck dont work well but got an idea
k now all yalll gonna think im stupid but here i go.
my jvc deck's right channel doesnt work. i like this deck (black face one). coud i hook the front wires up to the left front channel and both rears to the left rear channel. i know u cant adjust balance if this is done but will the power stil be at it max?

ooh
is there a site that explains how ohms work?
mixxmax: were u talking bout the subs cuz this problem r for my reg speakers (condfused with the preamp out). my whole right side does work with this HU. u still know where im getting at?

Yes, but then you run into problem in dropping the total ohm output of 2 ohms. I'm assuming each speaker is 4 Ohms. When you hook them up "parallel" the Ohms drops to 2, meaning amp is running hotter and much harder. Since your hooking them up to the headunit, you'll probably burn up the rest of the channels, as well. Most internal amp head units are not capable of running 2 Ohms. That is why they add the preamp outs. What you could do, though, is hook them up in "series" to acheive 4 Ohms. This will affect stereo imaging, though.

Stereo has a right and left channel for a reason. If you only play the left channel you will loose half the recorded information and all of your imaging. You wi=ould be left with something that sounds even worse than Mono.

True as to likely blowing of remaining channels, BUT hooking it up in series would result in 8 ohms, wouldn't it?
