Two 4 Ga. or a 2 Ga. to a distribution block?

Hey all, some wiring questions here. I've got 1 JL Audio 500/1 amp running 4 Ga. to the battery and I'm going to be adding a 300/4 (which will also take 4 Ga.).

1) Am I better off running a 2 Ga. wire (or 0 Ga?) from the battery to a distribution block or just getting another 4 Ga. for the 2nd amp? I know it would be cleaner if I had the one wire, but is there a difference in performance?

2) Will a 2 Ga. wire be enough for two 4 Ga or do I have to go to zero Ga?

3) Will two 4 Ga wires have fitment problems when running them to the back of the car?

Thanks!

Run the 2 ga. I have 2 Rockfords, Punch 200xi and 240x4. I run 4 ga to a distribution block, then 8 ga to the amps. I don't know the power output of those amps, so i don't know what to say.

It's 500 watts RMS for one, 300 watts RMS for the other = 800 total.

If they accept 4 ga wire, do the 2 ga off the battery into the distribution block. Then 4 ga to the amps.

Well they say 4awg is good up to 1000wrms...however that is dependant on the length. To be safe, go with the 2 or 0 awg to a distro and do 4 from there, like what was mentioned above. I had both a JBL BP1200.1 and a Pioneer GM-X554 producing around 1500wrms and they were both connected off a single 4 awg wire. I am pretty sure though I shoulda used a larger wire, but then again I had the gains down.
