Amp mount

I got my subs installed from an audio place and they mounted my amp to the back of the seat in my 2k2. The other day i come and look in my trunk and my amp is laying on the floor of my trunk. I can't find the screws that were holding it to the seat. I tried making a couple new holes with some screws that i had, but it fell out again in a couple days. Any ideas ? I really don't feel like going back to the place because they can take forever sometimes. Thanks.

I had the same problem, I think it is because the peice of wood you are mounting the amp on is so thin, it shakes the screws out when the bass hits.. I bought some screws with nuts placed the nuts behind the wood, and no more problems, let me know how it turns out..

I have my amp mounted there, I justed used screws long enough so they tapped into the sheet metal behind the thin layer of wood / cardboard.

Yeah thanks guys, i'll probably just try some longer screws. I don't have a sub box, it's a couple of old rickety a$$ base tubes. They were in my old car and i knew the guys at the place so they put them in for free. They are pretty crappy, but it's better (barely) than stock. . .

Just feel under there first. The sheet metal isn't perfectly flat (raised in places) so you may need to try a few different locations. Reach your hand under the backing and you'll see what I mean.

I was thinking about doing this, but I was thinking if I was ever in an accident, where someone rear-ended my car, I would hate for my rear passenger to get stabbed or poked in the back, I would say just be careful and dont use screws TOO long.. Just a thought..
