Bass in back speakers
Ok I have a BOSE system in my maxima and when i get my subwoofer installed i want to take the bass out of the back speakers and have music come out of it and all the bass to come out of the sub. Is there anyway i can do this w/out having to replace my back speakers.
Thanks

Re: Bass in back speakers
I would first try turning the "bass" down a little on your head unit and then turning the gain up slightly on your sub amp if necessary. That would be a crude way of doing it. The other better option is to buy or build highpass crossovers for your rear speakers.
IMO however neither is really necessary because your bose speaker are probably pretty poor at playing the frequencies that your subs will reproduce and will not be heard anyways. Doing option 1 or option 2 improperly will just cut down on low end midbass which is probably not what you want.

Bassblockers...
Will take the lows out of them. All they are is a capacitor, so you could wire one of those depending on how low you want to block out. However, I would just leave it alone and tune the head unit. The speakers that you have (I don't know what size they are or year your car is) will not produce sub-bass. They should do a good job of midbass and midrange.
Once you get the sub installed you probably will like the way it sounds.
