I am getting an alarm and the only option I want is keyless entry since my GXE 4th gen doesn't have it. I have installed two component sets, two amps, a sirius reciver, and my head unit by myself and feel very comfortable installing and customizing normal car audio, however, I have never installed an alarm. I am not intimidated, but I need some opinions on whether or not to try the install myself. I want to learn how to do myself, I have some wiring diagrams, and have plenty of time and patience. Should I do it? What tips can you give me? Any is appreciated. Thanks

Well If you want to try it then go ahead but i would really only do it with sombody watching over you that can help you through it.

If you are comfortable with car audio, alarms are VERY doable. The hardest part is getting keyless wires into the drivers door.

I have already drilled holes in the doors and put rubber gromets in the holes for the wires form my amps to the door speakers. The wires I need to tap into for the keyless entry option are in the drivers door and located in the wire harness connected to the drivers door control switches aren't they? I hope I'm on the right track.

I dont know about 4th gens, but for 3rd gens and several other cars I've done (camry, accord, prelude, vigor), you can find those wires somewhere else under the dash so that you dont have to run wires into the door
