hello, just noticed that my stock speakers (2K2) on the drivers side are both not working (front & back); i just get a distorted and muffled sound from them. anybody have this problem also? its still under warranty, but this means a trip to the dealership . anybody have any insight on this? i don't want to get ripped off . thx in advance.

 

oops plz ignore the "i dont want to get ripped off"... IT IS still under waranty. i cant get the edit function to work on this comp...

 

Quite a common problem. I'm awaiting my new headunit from the dealership right now. Check out this.

yeah but it should definetely be under warranty unless you have some aftermarket stereo parts.

 

nah, its stock. i know it depends on the dealership but, can this HU be replaced in a day?; don't want to leave it at the dealership unless i have to...geez that means i need another car to get me around!..

 

They usually have to come out and hear the speakers not working when you go to the dealership, then they order the new one. Shouldnt take more then a day when they do replace it, but I will let you know because mine just got in today.

 

hey, how did your new radio turn out?... i took out the CD's and tried them at home, they work fine. i turned on the car radio.. lo and behold they ALL work. put the CD's back in, i still get a muffled sound from the left side. from other posts related to this, it has been commented that this might be the beginning signs that my HU needs to be replaced. will a CD cleaner fix this problem?

 

I have the same problem that you do. My stock speakers (2K2) on the drivers side are not working. Actually, if I go over a railroad track sometimes the left side comes on intermittently. I have sent it back to the dealership to be repaired about 6 times. They have replaced the Clarion HU 3 times and replaced the left back speaker.
They still don't work! I'm still searching for information on how to fix the problem.
