Re: VERY cheap cd reciever

Come on man....this is your girlfriend. Don't settle for a cheap Jensen. At least step up to a decent radio like one of these. Also, I think Crutchfieild includes the wiring kit and the mounting kit for nothing.

If you want cheaper, try these....

The Blaupunkt one would be pretty nice... but thats pushing my budget a little. How is the quality of Jensen compared to other brands? This will be going on a bone stock 96 Accord (with some crappy speakers). Will the Jensen do, or should I step up to the blaupunkt? At least it isn't a Pyle or Pyramid......

jensen is not bad at all , i have one , it works fine , but its not one of the cheaper ones , jensens are the only ones that include aux-in without having to buy a $100 adapter

Pioneer DEH-1500

$100 or so, no flipping faces, blue backlight, proven pioneer reliability?

just a thought

As for the aux in, that is not true, there are several different more reputable companies that have an aux-in feature without buying an adaptor for it. Furthermore the adaptors when needed are in about the 40-60 dollar range, not 100.

For $75, you probably won't find a better deal than that Jensen. I'm sure it does the job. My personal opinion is that I'd rather spend and extra $25 and have a better known brand like the Panasonic or the JVC. That is just my $.02 Please keep in mind, that you may still need the wiring harness and the dash kit. There's another $30. You may be able to get a deck thought Crutchfield and they include the kits. This way you may spend an extra few bucks, but get a better radio. Good luck. I hope she likes which ever one you decide on.

i wont need a wire harness because i can wire it up myself by www.installdr.com. All I have to do is match up the colors with the wires..... what else do you mean by a wire harness? My total spending this way would be $75.

Off the top of my head, I know that many Panasonic, Nakamichi, Aiwa, JVC, and Pioneer decks have a true aux-in. Mine actually has aux-in and cd-changer in. Aiwa and JVC even have front panel aux-input.

I know Alpine and Kenwood are big on the "optional aux-in" meaning spend more cash and we'll give you a stupid input converter from RCA to our proprietary plug.

a wire harness adapts the radio wires to the factory harness. If you are just going to cut out the factory harness and match up the wires, then you won't need it. Also, it looks like the facotry Honda radio is the same size as the jensen so you wouldn't need a dash kit either.
