Sub and battery question...(kinda Long)

Hey guys!!!

I just installed my Kenwood 1000w max amp (not sure on model #s) and two 10" Kenwood subs. Well, the subs are in a custom box and the wires from them are going to the little plastic terminal panel on the back of the box. I twisted both the positive together and then the negative together coming from each sub. Then I tinned them and put them in a connector and connected it to the back of the panel. Is this connecting them in series or parallel? I think its parallel, but im not sure. I want to get as much as I can out of my amp.

I also replaced the battery with an Optima Red Top. I thought this would resolve the conflict with the headlights dimming at night when the bass hits, but unfortunately, it didn't. So where can I get a decent capacitor for a fairly resonable price? .5 farad enough? or 1 farad?

And yet another question... On the + battery connector, there is this big red plastic hoopla with connectors going into it. I bought a brass terminal from Advance and I want to know if it is safe to cut and strip those wires going into that connector and just put them with the main + wire into the new brass terminal?

Any feedback would be helpful.

Thank you!

The last question is the easiest to answer. Chop off the big red terminal on the factory connection. Plug all the wires into the new brass terminal.

The first question we need a better description of how you wired the subs. Number of subs. Number of voice coils per sub. Number of wire terminals per box / chamber, etc.

Batteries are zero benefit while the engine is on. This has been covered about once a week for the past 4 years easy. I am sure much longer than that. Proper gauge wireing and wire terminations are the key. Then a properly wired cap. If you can't get the proper gauge wires and properly terminate them, don't bother going to the next step. I wouldn't mess with less than 1 farad.
