DYNAMAT is expensive, what are the best alternative choices

I was reading a couple of posts in this section of the forums, and see a lot of threads on sound dampering. I have basically only heard of dynamat, and has a good reputation (from what I know) but is real expensive. Also, even if I could afford it, people say its better to let professionals do it. What are the other brands or other alternatives that are cheaper but still have the same quality, and where would I be able to find it (ex. Home Depot). Alot of the products mentioned in the other posts I have never heard of, but am willing to try if the price is cheaper and the outcome is the same as dynamat or even better. Thanks in advance

I've seen a lot of posts on "peel and seal". I guess you can buy it at Home Depot. I haven't used it personally though.
