I blew my right front speaker, the tweeters are fine, but I have to upgrade. What are the advantages of upgrading the tweeters as well as the speakers. I am tight on cash and can get a decent component system or just a really nice set of speakers, what do you think??

yo man you have to change the whole speaker system because the bose system is really wacked out it .....it runs offa a 4ohm instead of 2 ohm, like regular aftermarket stereos

Is it bose? If so, you have to change out all 4 speakers and radio. Bose spkrs have there own seperate amplifiers in them and run at 1 ohm.
If it isn't bose, you are in better luck. Do you plan on doing a full out system? If so, I would go w/ components. If not, I'd just throw in some nice coax spkrs in there

Actually Bose runs at about 1Ohm, and most common aftermarket speakers run at 4Ohm.

Whoa Whoa Whoa! If you have a 5th gen you can just switch out a tweeter, they run at the same impedance as aftermarket. I have pioneer tweeters in my 2K2 with Bose, just wire em up, put a capacitor on them and you're good to go.

Just replace them and you will be fine, it does not sound like you have any external amps....etc.

If you did hook up one later, you would want to run seperate wires to them, rather than using the stock ones!
