Polk Audio tweeters to Marry Bose

I just got an '02 SE with the 6CD changer. It really blows compared to my Bose in my '98 SE( for sale in Florida by the way )I bought an Infinity Basslink and some 1 " Polk Audio 3500EX Tweeters to bring things up to a level of audio reality, with the intent on not having to change the entire system out. I am interested in hearing from anyone else that has tried this, i.e. kept everything stock and got new tweeters and a sub. I am really more interested in getting additional volume out of the system, albeit a strange way to go about doing it. I am not Joe Audio Pro, anyone with any info or recommendations, go for it. I did hear that there shouldn't be a problem with the Basslink, but what about the tweeters? Is the Bose ohm issue going to play into this, I suppose so. And just how do I get these superior tweeters in and integrated with the Bose without destroying the world??? Anybody????? Bueller????
