Remote Start on a 5-speed Help

I am aware of a couple models including the Compustar in which you are able to do this.

I want to get an alarm that Best Buy sells with remote start and 2 way paging. It seems my best option is going to be the Clifford Matrix rs 3. So I get a nice dscount and all.....

Does anyone have any install help or advice for this system?
How about keeping my roll down windows function?

Is it possible to safely do remote start on the matrix?

Any advice will be appreciated!

To get teh remote start to work just use a cap nut and cover that button on top of the clutch.. Now you can remote start it, and even start the car with your key and not have to push down on the clutch.. Just remember even if the car is in gear the remote start will try to start your car and it'll jump. Don't park in front of any walls

Please do not attempt and install a remote start without some sort of safety feature in case the car was in gear. You never know if there could be someone in front of your car when you use the feature.

You can tap into the ECU to provide this safety feature. If you are in the Tri state area I can put you on to someone that may help you.

The car would hop after a failed attempt and then obviously try again, but I do not know how fast it would be during the hop. Still not good
Oh well...
I dont leave my car in gear anyway, so it won't matter.

Eitherway, get me some detailed info how to do it safely and I will.
or a contact or whatever,
Im in ohio
thanks

Let me know who can mod the ECU in the tri-state region. I'm in Va but work in DC.

Why don't you leave the car in gear? I had someones car roll into mine in a parking lot once cause of this. Bad idea.

hmm i've never had a problem....
Did the ebrake fail or something??

Well I am interested in setting up "safe" remote start... but it has to come form BestBuy....
Can I make the matrix RS3 have a simliar saftey feature like Compustart does? Tell me more about this ECU wiring... I assume some people have done it but never check THIS fourm.

So how about keeping my Roll down windows and trunk release?

I will be assisting in this install, so any actual details would be awesome!

Thanks

just was wondering what best buy you work at. i work at a best buy in VA. the sterling area. But about the remote start. not a good idea if you leave your car in gear all the time. Cuz it will jump and take off if in gear even if emergency brake is on. trust me it happened to me let girls dad drive my car christmas and went to start my car next morning and forgot he drove it. car took off and went into a ditch. But if you really want it done the clifford RS3 is the way to go. Stay away from the Avital one with the 2 way paging. All you have to do when installing is on the clutch there are 2 plugs with 2 wires. you need to test both plugs one at a time. you need to strip both wires back and have the 2 wires touch each other. if the car starts with the wires touching then you know u have the right plug. if not tape those wires up the way they were and do the same for the other harness

The guy who my bro bought his 5spd 99 Maxima off of, had the wire coming from the clutch button cut. This was a royal pain in the , because the car wouldn't pass inspection without that engaged again. The wire's power was running to something else, so I had to cut the power and reattach that wire to the clutch button wire. I believe that the guy that owned the car had a starter. It just seems pointless to me to do that.

You also lose cruise control that way.

I work in the Columbus,OH area, I am a PC tech. I guess I do not need the remote start feature right away... can I just install the RS3 without the remote start activated for now, and if we can develop a safe way to enable it, I could add it on later?
