SCV on 2002 Maxima

How does SCV (Speed Control Volume) in 2002 Maxima SE?

I can set it up as HIGH, MID or LOW, but I do not notice any effect. One dealer told me that this feather only works with Boss equipment, is it true?

Thanks,
qchang

It's supposed to work with the non-BOSE too, but I never noticed it do a damn thing. Though I've heard others on here say they didn't want to lose their SCV by replacing their deck, so obviously someone noticed a difference. But not me. Too bad, cuz it seams like a cool feature.

I believe this is an automatic volume control that adjusts the volume of the source as the car accelerates. Meaning as the car accelerates and gets louder it adjusts the volume to deal with the increasing engine noise and it does the opposite by lowering the volume to normal levels when the engine returns to normal noise levels. JVC has this feature in some of their HUs. I thinks its called AVLS.
