Stereo install

Ok my friend has a 92 accord it has the tape deck and cd changer control thing in the dash and all. Well yesterday he bought the p6400 from Pioneer and we installed it and nothing turned on. This is the first install that has not worked on me. Well since he wasnt going to use the cd changer controller we cut the wire to it. When we did that I heard some fizz from the wires when they were cut. But nothings wrong. We tried to isntall everything but we arent getting any power. I know its not maxima related but thought I could get some insight from someone who either has an accord of 90-93 or has installed one for that year of car. We didnt buy a harness because the old factory unit had what wire was what on the diagram on the connector so we cut those wires and used the diagram but nothing has happened. We're stuck for now. Can anyone help on this?

Wish you lived closer, I could drop by with my handy-dandy meter and figure it out.

PS - cutting a bundle of wires with battery still attached=bad idea. One hot wire back feeding through any other wire can ruin your whole day. My wire cutters have the burn marks to prove it and so does the dead Alpine deck on my shelf from 5 years ago. I kept it to remind me.

Good luck, but it don't sound good.

Do you know of any fuse it might have shorter when I heard the fizz noise. As soon as I heard that little fizz I thought to my self, Doh!! Battery was still connected. Well Ill try to find out if the wires are getting any power. I just found the wiring diagram from the internet with installation stuff on adobe. Took forever to look for. I guess hopefully this is all I need to find out the problem.
