What amps??

I'm a little new to car audio. I just ordered 2 pioneer 50-350 watts RMS. I need help on picking an amp. Whould I need two amps or just one for both of the subs. And also, if the sub is a 4-ohm, could I run it at 2 ohms, I know some people that do that.

You can only have these subs at 2 ohm if they are DVC (Dual Voice Coil) 4ohm. Another way of getting 2ohm out of them is if you have 4ohm SVC and wire the two subs in parallel.

As for the amp I would recommend anything that puts out 500Wrms into 2ohm if those subs are 4ohm SVC.

Yep, wire them parallel to a single 400-800 watt RMS monoblock amp. Almost every company makes an amp in that power range.

You have dual 4 ohm dual voice coil subs. Bad move. 1 ohm or 4 ohm is the way to wire it. It will be a little harder to find an amp to power this, but not much harder.

Check the 1 ohm and 4 ohm rating. That's the final load you will have for a mono amp.

Ohh...... so now please forget about what you found and look for something else that isnt named Sony Xplode.

See..... now it depends if you want to go the MONO amp way or the 2ch amp way. The mono will push your 1ohm load and 2ch will push your 4ohm load.

Post how much $ you are willing to spend and maybe I can help you a bit.

Your best amps are most likely zapco but it is costly, but you get what you pay for and you will never have a problem with the amp. If your looking for less money for a good amp look at orion and pg- they are decent to. I'm changin my whole system, and I got 2 bd1000 rockford's, though um not big on rf I never had any problems, just don't buy there subs.

You are missing the point here. The MONO amp has to be 1ohm stable. This one is not. I think you should have posted a msg before yo ubought those subs hehehe..... anywho....

If I were you I would not go the mono amp way anywho. Since you bought these "cheap" subs... I dont think you want to go and spend lots of $ on an amp to power then (it wouldnt make sense). If I may suggest for you.... USAcoustics USX2150. I used to have this amp and it is one hell of a workhorse. It will go well with those subs you have.

There are plenty of one ohm stable mono-blocks in the budget amp arena. And just as many 2 ohm mono-blocks that have enough power at 4 ohms to push those subs to their limit. Many may be bought used for under $200.
