Someone Familar w/ JL Amps Help!!! My Subs wont work b/c it states 'Low Volt'???
The light on my JL amp is on for Low Volt what the hell does that mean??? I have my manual @ my cousins house & he wont be back in town till friday....someone tell me what this means & how to fix it?
p.s. I'm running a 4ga. power wire from stinger on stock battery & have a 150 fuse up front by battery if any of that info will help...oh yea & i'm running 12ga. wire from sub to amp.

If you have a multimeter cancel the Tweeter appt. Measure the voltage at the battery with stereo off. Then measure at the amp, stereo off. Then same thing with the stereo on. If you have over 0.5 volt drop normal scenario is to upgrade to larger wire. But 4 gauge never should have been used if you expect to draw 150 amps, as you must expect with that fuse.

ok thanks, i'm going to do that or at least try....so are you saying i should have used 2ga. or 0ga. power wire instead?
p.s. where can i buy a multimeter at?

Radio Shack, Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, almost anywhere. And yeah, should have used the larger cable. But only if your amp or amps will draw that much current. A single class D is normally pretty happy with 100-125 amps max. But that would put it in the 2 gauge power wire range.

but i have other problems....the box....the system is seriously just bad luck for me
