p.s. I'm running a 4ga. power wire from stinger on stock battery & have a 150 fuse up front by battery if any of that info will help...oh yea & i'm running 12ga. wire from sub to amp.

The voltage the amp is getting from the battery / alternator has dropped below the minimum operating voltage. Don't be surprised if you have trouble starting the car.

ok thanks...if that doesnt work i'm taking it to autozone to run a test on battery....& if that doesnt work, i called Tweeter (audio store by my house), they said i might need to run a 2ga. wire...so i'll just make an appt. & let them figure it out

If you have a multimeter cancel the Tweeter appt. Measure the voltage at the battery with stereo off. Then measure at the amp, stereo off. Then same thing with the stereo on. If you have over 0.5 volt drop normal scenario is to upgrade to larger wire. But 4 gauge never should have been used if you expect to draw 150 amps, as you must expect with that fuse.

ok thanks, i'm going to do that or at least try....so are you saying i should have used 2ga. or 0ga. power wire instead?

p.s. where can i buy a multimeter at?

Radio Shack, Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, almost anywhere. And yeah, should have used the larger cable. But only if your amp or amps will draw that much current. A single class D is normally pretty happy with 100-125 amps max. But that would put it in the 2 gauge power wire range.

That's a good suggestion. And check that voltage. You could have a nastier problem such as a bad battery or alternator. Or a bad ground somewhere else that is burning up all of the power the alt can produce.
