Port in rear deck.

Is it worth it to cut rear deck where bose subwoofer should be. I want to cut this to make a port for bass. I leave my seat down the majority of the time. Will it give me more when I fold the seat up? Thanks.

Some say that removing the bose sub gives you a port. I feel that it works somewhat. On the whole the rear whole for the sub is a little big to be considered a port, but some like the sound it gives. Make sure you have some nice tight subs if you do this because a muddy sub will only sound looser. Leaving your seat down nullifies any sealed characteristics your trunk might have. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I'm talking about cutting the carpeted part of the rear deck to the size of the square opening in the metal. Then maybe putting a mesh of some sort. I've got a sealed box too.

I understand. But if it was my car, I would listen to a car that had it done before I went cutting my trunk. It much easier to be patient than to replace the rear deck.
