Subwoofer opinions wanted
i have this JBL BP 600.1 amp.
http://www.jbl.com/car/product.asp?p...er=POS&cat=AMP
i was wondering what one good 12" sub would be for this amp to really make it bump. im lookin more for quality...im not a hardcore bass head, but i do like some bass. not lookin to spend a lot of money, but a decent amount....maybe $200 or so. If any of that makes sense, help me out.Thanks.

I've got the exact same amp as you pushing an Alpine Type R (12, DVC). I guess we kinda like the same sound, I'm not a basshead at all. I just like the accent, but it'll pound if I turn up the bass. Try either an Alpine or Infinity Kappa Perfect. If you are gonna wait, I'll be there in a month and you can listen to mine

for sure dvc, i have 2 12 infinity kappa perfects in my audi with audiobahn 1200 watt amp, sounds great......i have 2 10 aluminum audiobahns in my maxima with same audiobahn amp. sounds even better than the perfects.

I personally like the ED 12K.44 http://www.edesignaudio.com/ep/kspecs.htm
or the Adire Shiva http://www.adireaudio.com/mobile_aud...vers/shiva.htm
Or the IDQ 12 from Sounddomain

Didnt you know that if your not pushing the amp to its limits that its not going to work 'properly'. (sarcasm again! )
Anyways, in all seriosus, it doesnt make too much of a difference in running it at 4, 2, or 1 ohm (apart from power). This amp doesnt heat up all that much, and THD isnt all that noticeable in sub bass frequencies. Although, as Pearl96Max stated, 'Why?' do you need a DVC sub? If he bought a 300W sub, he wouldnt need 600W for it. It wouldnt hurt it if it was setup well, but why bother. May as well run it at 4 ohms on a single coil sub. Or get a dual 2 or 8 ohm of the same sub. Either way, DVC subs are to allw for various wiring configurations, the number of coils will depend on the power limitations of the sub!
