Good question! I was thinking of getting an aftermarket alarm system since my car didn't come with a clicker! BTW any suggestions for good aftermarket alarm systems? Not to pricey neither.

I just got a Viper 790vx and for that function to work with the alarm I would have had to pay like 120 bucks for a part. But my keyfob from my factory alarm still works, so I can still roll down my window. But you would have to carry around that old factory keyfob in addition to the alarm one (if you don't want to pay for the part). Good thing (I guess) I can still roll down the window with my key.

The range is real good. I can start my car from the 4th floor of my office building. I have heard some people say it has a range of 1/4 mile and others 1/2 range in optimum conditions, but I haven't been that far away from my car yet to test it out. The only downside to the alarm is the cost, but even that was reasonable. I spent about $510 dollars. I didn't have all of the expandable features hooked up.

Anyone see any of the pager alarms they have now with the LCD screen? How good are these, I see them on ebay for way less than 200 bucks. Anyone have one of these? Thoughts?
