why the sad face? That's pretty high for 2 10's sealed at only 300W. It must be bandpass or ported. I've never measured mine, but other people with similar setups hit high 120's, low 130's. I have a single 12" Brahma sealed @ 800W.

he easily could have hit 150. SPL is highly dependent upon how well your system is tuned.

Check page 2 of my homepage, In competition I hit a 137 and my setup is all SQ no SPL, got a trophy too. My friend also competed and he has 2 10's in a sealed box, his fuse blew during competition and he still hit a 132. Check the links on my homepage.

144.6 with my cadillac, running 3 concept's in a sealed 3 cubic ft. shared box powered by a Concept 800w Class D monoblock. The next day we got the correct amp, an Audiobahn 1200w monoblok, so it should be pushing 145.5.
THe system is set up for SQ and SPL, just switch off the interiors for SPL "mode"...

where do you guys get your spl measured at? i've seen some spl meters for sale, but seem kinda stupid for spending that much money for one.

I got metered at a competition one of my local shops was having. They used their USAC mic so i know my reading was accurate. Just go to a local shop and ask them if they know of any upcoming competitions.

There were people there that regularly compete there and they all got basically with in like .5db's or so of what they normally get. One guy before even testing said im gonna get a 150.6 he got a 150.6 then he remembered that his glove box was open and he goes now i'll get a 150.8 and again he gets a 150.8

It's pretty pre****atble once you get into it...But still Usac is known for having mic problems...Not discounteing any of the sad numbers claimed here...Just comenting...THe problem is alot of mics are not calibratied yearly, abuse, port wars...not using the L chig crap like that.

My old civic was doing 152.2 with two 15's before I retired it, and sold everything. I built an Escort that did 159.0 with 4 JL Audio 18's. I am doing 138.1 with 300 watts RMS, and 2 Kicker 12's in my Max through the ski hole. It is all in design and knowing your vehicle's resonant frequency and building a tuned enclosure that is a one note wonder. I have learned that SQ is much more important, and if it sounds good, that is what really matters.
