Hey guys, I got $1250 to spend on a system.. an amp, 2 12"s and a box.. I'm primarily concerned with SPL when it comes to my system, followed by SQ. I'm gonna be buying the amp and subs on Ebay, so I have enough money for stuff like Infinity Perfects, BD1000s, Kicker L7s etc. but I'm not sure which of the subs and amps in that class would best suit my SPL addiction, can anyone give me advice on which items I should pick or tell me a place where I can find out info on em? Thanks


*edit* Oh yeah this is for an Integra Hatchback.. and also what kind of box would you guys reccomend? I've heard boxes make one of the biggest differences... custom for subs, or custom for car?

Word..Amps...go with PPI or Autotek..Subs..I know you want SPL..but these subs have best of both world's..SQ & SPL..ID MAX, CMPx-2, Audiomoile MASS, L7's good for SPL not SQ IMO..Get the box made for the correct air space..I know a place where U can get a good deal on CMPx-2's if u wanna know emaill me..late

im kinda partial to the Rockford Fosgate Amps (pre 2001 - because the newer amps are more or less the same as MTX), PPI are good amps too

Subs to look at L7's are probley want you want, big, loud,good sounding. Maybe one jl audio w7 with a good amp. What amps? Eclipse,jl audio,kicker, Zapco ag- thats the one i'd go for. Depends what you can find on the net.

If you do buy off ebay, look out for a seller by the name of usavemoney. I bought an L7 from him a couple months back and he sent me the wrong sub. Then he wouldn't take it back. I eventually sold it to a friend of mine and bought another. Just be careful who you buy from online. Good luck

How about? 10" Orion HCCA in a large ported box firing through the armrest. That should it make it quite hard to breathe inside the car.

If you're looking for SPL, I sell an SPL and SQ amplifier.
It's called Zapco AG750. Has 1000 watts peak. 750 RMS. I drive ID MAX with this machine.

I bought it for $600. I sell it for only 310. If you get the second one like this, Stroker or ID MAX subs, you'll win the competition.


P.S. Someone already said here that he would choose either Kicker or Zapco.

Get 2 Brahma's (ampmanaudio.com, or adireaudio.com). The subs are 12" subs and will sound better and louder than a w7. they cost 380 each, which is about 760 for 2. 2 of these subs will sound louder than 4 infinity perfect 12" with about 1 cuft per sub. Also, not only will you get nice spl, but nice sq. One of these 12's should hit mid 140's. 1200-760=440 for box and amp. I would build a box thats 2cuft and spend the next 400 for a decent amp, maybe the jbl 1200. One thing, these subs have a 5000 watts max rating, with 1600 rms,,,,,trust me you wont be dissappointed, but deaf.
