Install question:

My equipment:
-Alpine CDA-9813 (power directly from battery)

Have both the DVD and LCD. Can I connect both dvd and lcd to same power, ground and remote that come from the factory wiring(still sing ground and remote for Alpine)? or will I need an inverter? What function the the inverter actually perform?

I am looking to put both the lcd and dvd in the glove box. I am going to have it cut tomorrow. I will fill the hole with a pice of lexen tinted plastic so I can see the headunit and use my remote. No space for hu in 3rd generation If anyone has suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
