Antennae problem

need help with my antennae, it's in that slot, but it doesn't go up or down, and when i listen to the radio...it's pure static..so i'm guessing that the antennae isn't active...so i was wondering if someone can tell me how i can fix this myself.

You probably need to hook the remote line of your radio to the ant. wire.

If you replaced your head unit you probably did not hook up the antenna power wire to either your Remote Turn on wire or some Head Units have a dedicated power output for ANTENNA. But it sound like your antenna is up already which you should be getting reception anyway. You might want to check the antenna adapter hookup.

You just swapped out your head unit correct? You need to take your remote turn on wire and hook it to the power ant. wire. If you used a wiring harness then there should be a wire in the harness for the ant.
