need every1 opinion, what can i do to stop my lights from dimming??

i have a pioneer 700 watt amp bridged pushing two 12" fosgate hx2 (think 1000 watts )

i also have a 1 farad cap connected

with the cap still conected to the system my lights will dim out every time the bass hits,

will the lights wen they dim , will that cause my battery /alternator to to fail ?

do i need a better battery or another cap ? or anything else?

would gettin an optima battery solve this problem ?
should i get another cap? i taught a 1 farad cap is supposed to be good up to 1000 watts , i only have a 700 watt amp

if i leave my lights dimming will it cause my battery/ alternator, wire harnesses, etc to burn out

thanks for any help

97 out of 100 times you don't have a good ground. You aren't running enough power to overload the stock system. Make sure your ground is the same size wire as the positive, and is grounded within 18 inches of the amp. Make sure there is no paint where it is grounded, and make sure your ground is tight.

the maxima is known for it's lights dimming all the time.

you hit the power lock and the lights dim.

you go up with the windows and the lights dim.

i only have 2 amps.

the only way i helped my system was by adding:

new 125 amp altinator (oem)

2- optima red top batterys

2- 1 f caps.

also wat would happen if u leave ur lights dimming , would it possibly burn out the battery/alternator , wire harnesses?

Try upgrading the 3 wires from the alternator.

it's very easy to kill a battery but you don't want to kill the alternator. it will cost alot of $$$ and down time to fix.

i rather change the battery 10 times before i have to change the alternator.

most all maxima's alternators run between 12.5 & 14.2 volts.

if you are running more than 14.5 volts that means your regulator is shot & your amp will break down soon.

i went from a 110 amp to a 125 amp (oem)

you can get a 180 amp alternator from ohio generators but you will need to install new brackets so it can fit.

Man I don't know what ya'll are talkin about as far as the max having chronic problems with the lights dimming.... I have 3 power HX2 12's, with 3 fosgate bd.1000 amps, I hit 152 db all day long, and I still have my stock battery with no caps.

My Lights are bright and pretty, with no dimming....just a thought

You may want to start rewiring the stock wires under the hood.I have 0 guage run over to the engine block, and that took care of a few problems. I have better throttle response (better spark) and my big Xtant amp doesn't dim my lights at all. I also have 0 guage run to the trunk, and a stainless nut, and bolt with lock washer to ground it in the trunk. I haven't had any light dimming problems with Maximas. I just installed a 1600 Watt RMS PPI amp in my friend's car with no problems.

the only power upgrades I have in my car is an Everlast Deep Cycle Marine battery, no caps at all. Running 600watt Bazooka Mono Amp, 200watt MTX 2channel amp, playstation 2, 1 screen and my lights barely dim
