I just bought a max that has the bose stereo but no tweeters. I know the other speakers are all 1 ohm, so do I have to use BOSE tweeters w/ a certain impedence? Or can I use any tweeter?

First off, make sure the wiring is still there. Second, you can use any set of tweeters you want. The ones that come with the Bose are 4 ohm Clarion. Replacing them makes the Bose system more tollerable.
