Need help identifying problem with my system...

I've got component speakers and 6 X 9s running off a 4-channel amp and my subs running off a separate amp.

My problem is when I am driving I will lose the sound at random (I lose both the inside speakers and subs). This ONLY happens when I am driving...the sound is fine when I am stopped.

I've tried to notice if it happens when I hit bumps, but it's pretty random.

My first thought was loose wiring somewhere, so I checked everything today...and everything seems ok. I checked the power cable from the battery, the connections behind the head unit, and the cables in my trunk going into the distribution blocks and amps. All the wires look fine, and I even "jiggled" them all with the system on to see if I could duplicate the problem.

I'm completely lost here. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

id say redo all the wires. not re run but cut the exposed part off and get some terminals for the amp and ground. check the ground location? kinda got me lost too.

I had a problem similar to yours not too long ago after getting frustrated cause I could not get it to duplicate the problem while stopped I finally started to have my multimeter tied into different voltage points first being the remote turn on wire so when the problem occurred I could check the voltage. The problem came out to be the RCA cables were going bad changed them haven't had a problem since.

I was gonna say the remote turn on...because both amps are cutting out..and that is something they have in common. Re do that one and your problem should be fixed

I'm not real familiar with all the names of the wires. Which one is the remote turn on wire?

So should I replace the whole wire? Or just redo both ends (i.e. cutoff tips and reconnect)?

first redo the ends, if the problem doesn't disappear replace the whole wire.
also check that no power cable is crossing/overlapping with a RCA or speaker wires

Can I run a 4 channel amp and power my rear 6 3/4" speakers and a Single 12in sub?
