Sorry, another rice neon question... Please help!

*I know that there is another thread titled this, but the server timed out and didnt post correctly*

Hey orgy members,

I bought 2 20" blacklight OptX Streeglow tubes for the front under the dash and 2 15" for under each seat in the rear. I took all the + leads and crimped them into one solderless terminal, and took all the - leads and crimped them also.
Then I connected the - to a bolt under the console in front of the Airbag sensor module and connected the + to a 3-prong switch. Then I ran a wire from the + terminal of the battery to the Power lead on the switch. Also have an inline 30amp fuse on the wire.

Now, my question is, why would I be blowing the same neon two times? The 15" tube under the drivers seat just blew out last night and it was the second one I bought. Now I have to go back up to Advance and tell them it didnt work in the first place and try and get another one. But why would it be doing that? When it stopped working last night, I could smell something burning. It was the same smell as a circuit board melting, or any other plastic.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong

For u flamers, I HAVE already searched, and all I came up with was reducing the size fuse. But, I don't see how this would help. If there was too much current running to the neons, wouldn't all of them blow out?

Thanks a bunch!

The only thing I can think of is try putting the lights on two switches - i.e., have two tubes going to one switch, and the other two tubes going to another switch. Also, make sure your ground is good...
I've got two 15" tubes tied into one switch in my Mustang, had it that way for about 2-3 years w/o any problems...
Good luck

I was thinking about doing that, or I saw this thing made by Pilot that allows you to hookup 4 different components through one wire. It also has a small touchpad that you can turn them on with. Might give that a try. Only $25...

Thanks!
