Burning CDs

Is there any way to encode CDs (when burning) with CD text. Basically I'd like to add track titles and disc titles to my burnt CDs so I can see disc and track names on the headunit's display.

i cant speak for .cda format, but i switched all my cds to mp3 format, and when i ripped them from the actual cd onto my comp, it automatically gave the tracks the right title (with the winamp cd ripper), so when i burned the mp3 cds, it had em already. hope u figure it out.

Make sure your CD burning software is capable of text writing. I know Nero and some Roxio programs have this feature. Also, the CD player your playing on must be "CD text ready", meaning it's capable of reading text CD's.

Thanks for the info. After doing a bit of research, it looks like it's between Roxio CD Creator Platinum 6 and Nero 6. Both are capable of creating discs with text.

On the CD Creator (5.0), I have to choose the "disc at once" option when burning in order to get the CD text encoded...the other burning options don't have the "text" option...just FYI.

I believe the cd player reads the ID3 tags... i use winamp to enter the id3 tag for either the title or artist... then just burn it with any cd burning program... see if that helps...

Again, thanks for the replies. I went out and got Nero 6. Works like a charm.
