BOSE tweeter swap?

Every time I crank up my BOSE stereo I’m disappointed. The sound is too flat. Has anyone replaced the “post” mounted tweeters with a better speaker? If so, did you get an improvement? I would like to improve the sound quality but don’t want to pull out the head unit. 03 GLE

Here's a thread done by TimW that I used to put mine in. BIG improvement. But improving the highs (do the sub too) and it will make you realize how bland the door speakers are.

I recently swapped out the Bose tweeters for a set of JL tweeters. The difference is amazing. There is actually treble now.

I just did mine today. I used the Polks and the cross-over. The sound difference is amazing.

I also replaced the light bulb in th A/C unit. All in all a good day for the Max.

Nope, no extra amp needed. Just follow the directions in the link I posted above. Cut the wires to the old tweeters, connect them to the new tweeters/cross overs. They're driven off the factory amp.

I did the polk EX3500 tweet swap in our 2k with the Bose this summer. Crutchfield now sells them for $59.99 EX3500 at Crutchfield Well worth the money and pretty easy to do. I think it took me about 1 hour and that included a cold one or two!
