I would get A Optima yello top because it can take the discharging and charging a stereo causes. But you could get a decent lightweight battery and use an Xtatic 300 or 400 batcap for capacitance.

It is reccomended that you have 1 farad of capacitance for every thosand watts of power you have. If both amps are stereo, thats 800 watts=1 farad. But waht would be the fun of having HX2's if you didn't mono bridge, right? In that case the JL is in theory putting out 1000 watts + 300=1300=1.5 farads. There is also a company called Xtatic that makes a "Batcap" of different sizes that has a better discharge/charge time than a regular capacitor. Theyre a little more expensive though.

I don't know if a batcap will start or run a car. One battery and a 400 should suffice.

well you're missing the whole point of doing that which is weight reduction while keeping audio performance so i'm trying to get rid of the heavy battery

I got that, but your options are somewhat limited. I was saying get the lightweight battery and use the 400 for supplemental power.

I have never seen a batcap start or run a car before. It is more like a battery that acts like a cap. It's designed to recharge from a discharge in 10 seconds. I don't think you'll have a problem starting the car, but runninig lights, A/C, etc. may cause a problem.
