Alpine 9815 install problems
Ok i just bought a alpine 9815 the other day and I installed all the wiring perfectly, but when it comes to mounting it, it seems like it just doesnt fit in the stock bracket well, not to mention the screws connecting the bracket to the stock deck were some of the tightest screws ever, it took me like an hour just to get them all out and in the process I broke 5! screwdriver tips!!!!! But my question is what is the best dash kit for the 2000 maxima gxe with premium sound becasue the one i bought does not fit at all. And also the antenna wire doesnt even plug into the alpine deck(I guess I need an adapter. Thanks for all the help. Thanks for the help..

I just installed a 9813 in my 93 Maxima. I bought it from crutchfield and it was the best thing I could have done. No sales tax and cheap shipping. At any rate, nissan cars, even old ones need an antena adapter. Crutchfield sent mine to me free, but I'm sure you could buy one for around 15 bucks. Second, you should hook up the reciver's power to the battery, not the factory harness...atleast thats the case in my 93. The "V-Drive" amp in the deck is STRONG and needs lots of power. Unless the original bose had a high current draw, most likely the factory yellow power wire can't give it enough juice.
Lastly, my stock radio screws were impossible to get out with a screwdriver...I drilled all 4 of them out. Its like that on every Nissan.
