Change out battery to blue top or get a capacitor?
I have a JL 500/1 and just got 2 kicker 12L7's. They are very loud! But now there is a noticeable light dimming. I'm thinking of just getting a Monster Cable 1 Farad capacitor and wiring it in line to the JL amp. I think the price of a blue top is similar to a capacitor. What would be my best bet, capacitor or battery? By the way I have a 925 CCA battery now.

You need a Cap (1Farad-1.5) first- so all the power is not being directly tapped from the battery (thats
causing the dimming)
I suggest youy change the battery as well in the future (if you have the OG Nissan Battery)

Hmm, maybe it's the guage of the wiring becuase I run two amps and two subs off of my battery and I have no dimming whosoever. I use 4 gauge from the battery back and then 8 guage after the dustribution block
My battery brand is called Exide

I have another amp on my highs. I have 2 4 gauge wires coming off the battery. One goes to a distribution block which splits off to a 8 gauge wire which powers my high amp it is about 400 watts. The other goes directly to the JL 500. I also have a 4 gauge ground. My battery is not OEM it is a Duralast Gold. Thanks for all input.

A cap is going to be more economical.
You can pick one up thru places like ebay for next to nothing. A Yellow Top or comparable battery will run you well over $100 at best.
The cap will also give you better results IMO since you don't have a beefed up alternator.
I would also make sure that my ground connections were very good. Is the area on and around the ground connection sanded down to bare metal? Is it to solid groundin point?
Another optiong before spending too much money is to use that same 4 gauge wire you probably have left laying around and use it to replace the wimpy 12 gauge used on the alternator. This is a cheap insurance anyway.

i agree, replace the alternators wiring with atleast 4AWG, and replace the factor ground cable(s) on the battery, its usually 8awg so it's not adequate. def use a cap if u still have dimming. get a quality cap. there are less expensive ones available, but they usually arent constructed very well. u need a cap with a very low ESR rating. good luck dude
