People listen closely...THE E IS AN ERROR! IF THE E POPS UP RANDOMLY SEND IT IN IMMEDIATELY AND V1 WILL SEND IT BACK NEXT DAY AIR WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I SPOKE TO MIKE VALENTINE ABOUT THIS AND HE WAS VERY POLITE AND EXPLAINED TO ME WHY MY NEWLY PURCHASED V1 PUT UP THE ERROR MESSAGE. ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT DRIVE AROUND WITH RANDOM E'S POPPING UP SEND IT TO V1 TO GET FIXED FOR FREE AND SWIFTLY.

I just ordered a Passport Escort 8500 X50 and a new Valentine One both direclty from their official websites. I plan to test both of them together as they both come with a 30 day return policy. I do a lot of rural highway driving...2 hours one way sometimes in Eastern Washington so this should be a good test.

I had just ordered the 8500 a few days ago but after reading this thread I ordered a Valentine to see which one seems like the best one. I generally don't speed but I'm always wondering where the cop is when my current Steel Eye POP detector goes off...and I often pass at 120 sometimes which really lets me know I need an 00vi w/ my SC setup...3rd Gear kind of stumbles at redline...

Anyway...These are the current units so I'll post up my experiment over the next couple of weeks. One of them is going back for a full credit as this is the only way I could pull this off.

Having owned 3 Passports 1 7500 and 2 8500 's I can say that I truely regret dealing with Escort and wasting so much $$$ The performance of the Escort is just fine except with both of my 8500's after about a year or so I started getting a SERVICE REQUIRED error message on my screen. Another thing is with my last 8500 x50 blue display everytime I'd accelerated (wot) the laser would go off and scare the crap out of me. Very dissapointing after spending over 300 each time. I just got my V1 last week and I can't tell you guys how superior it is so far, in so many ways. It's a little annoying but so much eaiser and more functional. It was way smaller than I ever thought as well. I just wish I would have spent the extra 100 bucks the first time around. I'd have saved a bundle over the years.

The latest independent and unbiased radar detector test has already proven that the Valentine One is still #1.

They tested between 6-9 radar detectors and Valentine One is the only name you will find in the top 3 every time....not Bel STi, not Bel RX65, not Escort 8500, not Escort 8500 X50.

I agree with you JFP!

The V1 has the best rear radar detection because it is the only detector with 2 antennas to locate radar and it wins by over 2 miles in rear Ka band detection.
