Anyone have XM or Sirius Satellite Radio installed in their Max?

I am planning on getting XM Satellite radio installed in my Max but am uncertain on the best setup or installation. Does anyone have any of these units installed and their Max? Can you provide pictures and possibly install instructions?

Thanks!

It's easier to buy a HU that is XM or Sirius capable, Alpine or Kenwood. Then all you need is the receiver, which can be under the seat or in the trunk, and the antenna. I have an Alpine CDA-9813....XM coming for christmas

Sirius antenna is on the Rear deck. The FM modulator controller is velcroed above the sunglass holder... cable goes above & behind the edge of the headliner all the way down the A-pillar into the glovebox. That's where I have my tuner.

Quick Question. I'm new to this and plan on installing XM radio via the SkyFi this xmas. Where is the A pillar and how did you run the wire down it?

A pillar is between the windshield and doors. There are a couple of how-tos addressing A pillar removal. Good Luck and lets see some pics when you are done. better yet take some picks and do a how-to.

The A-pillar is the pice where the tweeter is located. Pry it from the top & work your way down... You don't have to remove it all the way. You can easily squeeze the cable through the rubber edge.

I have XM on an Alpine XM ready deck. I love it, but I think that the programming on Sirius is better. I did the installs on all the VP's of XM so they gave me a dealer account unit. If I was paying, I would have gone with Sirius. Once you get satelite radio of any kind, you will never listen to AM/FM again.

I stopped listening to FM/AM long before I got the XM. XM rocks!!! Premier 930 HU/12 disc changer and xm tuner in trunk/JL 12w6/2 Hifonics amps/JL separates front, coaxials rear/dynamat/audio control bass processor. Sounds good but I need more dynamat to eliminate rattles.

I hae Sirius. Install was a piece of cake, but then again, I have some install experience. Receiver is mounted on back of rear seat.

It's the GXE with a custom trim panel done by a car audio shop. I didn't like the gap between the pocket and the radio.

I also stopped listening to FM once I got Sirius . . . I've had it for two months, and it's awesome. Once in a while I'll pop in a CD for my favorite songs, but that's it. Popping in CD's will also cease once I get my Music Keg
