You can get the sub cheaper on ebay. I got 4. $170ea. I can't say for the amp. I have no experience with JBL car audio. I just sold one 12 and wil be using a MMats 2000. I have a friend that has a MMats 1400 on my old solos also 3 12's and it herts to sit in his Dodge ram.
PS make sure they are not refurbished. Most dealers on ebay sell the referbs and do not advertise this. Also DO NOT USE CMT trading, they tried to screw me. Ebay investigated and gave me the money back. I now use CBR car stereo. The guys name is Dennis, he really cool. Good luck.

If only that site was allowed to sell Kicker. Kicker has been trying to stop them for awhile bt has no idea where they even get the products from....just something to think about when buying something and throwing some guy your money.

which would be better on the jbl 600.1 ....... i 12' l7 in a 1.0cuft sealed box or 2 kicker comp vr 10's in 1cuft per sub sealed box? which will be louder, and which would sound better overall? im only running sealed box due to lack of space.

Do the simple math. Xmax X 2 X Sd = volume displacement. Xmax is linear 1 way excursion. Sd is the surface area of the cone. Volume displacement is the volume of air that the sub can move in one stroke. This is what determines theoretical SPL limits. Then you need to factor in the enclosure, the car, the amp and any changes to the car that can add or take away from SPL or resonance frequency. Without actually doing the math I would most likely get one 12L7 and put it in 2 - 3 cubic feet ported to about 35 hz and use a subsonic (infrasonic) filter to cut the low sub bass. If you truly want SPL only I would tune it higher.

but my jbl 600.1 amp does not have a subsonic filter and plus wouldnt a sealed box have more sq with the l7? however, on car audio boards people say otherwise.

I didn't realize SQ and L7 could be used in the same sentence. It is made to get loud. Therefore it will. But useing the right box will help it a lot.
You may want to invest in a better amp. They are so cheap used that it's ridiculous not to have one with a subsonic filter. Or you could do the same thing with a processor but that would likely cost more.

First decide if you want SPL or SQ. Then go listen to various style enclosures and subs to see what sounds best to you. Most people who think they want SQ don't. A significant portion of the population relates relative loudness to good SQ. I should say a very significant portion. Don't let your brain trick you into buying somthing that won't give you the most for your money. People are so accustomed to distortion in bass that a lot of "SQ" people dislike the new low distortion subs. Without the distortion they beleive something is missing from their music and they are in one respect correct.
I have only heard the PG Ti subs once but couldn't really demo the subs. It was at the Nopi show in Georgia in 2002 at the PG booth. If you choose to go with one of the high end subs I would pick one of the lower priced versions, Adire, Ed, ID, and JBL. The differences in SQ aren't equal to the differences in price. The pretty subs are designed to get the people who are more concerned about their systems appearance than their systems sound.

You can go SQ in the sub bass and still hit 150 dB's or more. That isn't at all what I was typing. It sounds as if you want to minimize the low frequency extension. In that case I would use the smallest or nearly the smallest enclosure recommended for a sub. I would make sure the amp has a subsonic filter but I would not sacrifice by using a smaller sub. Smaller subs don't hit the midbass harder than large subs. The difference is that they don't go as low as easilly as the larger subs. It's easier to cut back the low frequencies in a good system with adequately sized box, etc. than it is to add low frequency extension to a system that is not designed for that application.
I don't have time to check PG's spec's right now.
