question on rca and line lvl inputs

question on rca and line lvl inputs
one question.. the basslink has 4 rca plug inputs.. my HU only supports 2.. one sub out and front line.. the basslink has a port for speaker level inputs for the rear where i have to splice the speaker wire into the basslink.. should i connect those. does it matter?. sounds fine now..but would it make it better? thanks
