Yes you need a relay for trunk release, and depending on the unit you have you may need one for lights as well. Trunk needs to see ground to activate and the parking lights on your unit may be a negative output, therefore needing a relay to change to positive.

the trunk pin and trunk release both use the purple yellow wire. the release is a high current ground, so you need a relay.

Actually they dont. Please do NOT connect both wires to the Purple/Yellow. They are the same colors, but by far not the same wire. The trunk release is the larger of the two. As in my previous post yes a relay is required.

For your brake wire...if your not using remote start, then leave it disconnected. Just make sure it is secured and not exposed.

Its ok, it happens. In Techsoft it does say Purple/yellow on both, so I can see where the confusion would be. For future reference..release and trigger are Never the same wire.

Get something reliable and dependable. You dont want to be under your dash every other week trying to fix it.

BTW I only charge $229 to Org members for the Viper 350.

Notes:
*1 Requires a double pulse. *2 The BCM (body control module) is located just below the radio. *3 Must use a relay to interface with this circuit. *4 A single negative pulse to the unlock wire will disarm without unlocking. *5 The ECM is located in the front of the center console on the transmission hump. The wiring is easily reached by removing the small black panel just to the front of the center console on the passenger side. the wire is in the middle row, 7th one in from the left. *6 The ignition harness wires change color at a plug. The above listed colors show both sides of the plug.
