Question about power inverter and laptop

I have a sima m-series 140 watt power inverter. It has a label that says input:12v Nominal DC and output:115v AC. I want to use my laptop in the car. The charger for my laptop has a label on the back that says input:100-240v ~1.4A 50/60Hz and output:19v - 4.74A. Can i use my laptop safely in the car with my power inverter? thanks

This is no expert advice, but I've been using my laptop with a cheap old power inverter and it works fine. i wouldn't worry too much. If the power is way out of whack the batteryshould kick in.

Sounds like you shoud be OK. The only thing you generally have to ensure is that your laptop does not require more than 140 watts. Most laptops don't need more than 75 watts with some larger desktop replacements requiring 90 watts. So you should be OK.
