Adding auxiliary input converter

Adding auxiliary input converter
I found this diagram for the stock bose unit on a '95.
This is normally used to connect the CD-changer to the head unit, but I'm looking to run a wire to my MP3 player to enable me to listen to it through the speakers without needing an FM transmitter or crappy cassette adaptor.
I found this website through older threads: http://www3.telus.net/cornblatt/aux_in.htm
I was wondering how I would be able to create such a device myself. I would need a connector (which Radio Shack should have) and what else? An RCA cable that I would cut open to splice into? Has anyone ever done this?

It looks as if you may have to do more online searching to see if any of those devices still exist. You can try the email address on the site, good luck!

Reading the info on the site the Nissan radio input does not accept a normal analog audio signal. Apparently that is the purpose of the device. That's why I suggested emailing the sites creator to get more info. Unless you are an electrons technician or majoring in EE it may be more difficult to make than the low price suggests.
