Quieting Trunk rattle

I've got a nice amount of wattage pushing a pretty good kenwood 12 inch sub and i like the sound but i have a good amount of trunk rattle... I'm about to buy a way better audiobahn sub this week and i know my trunk rattle problems about to get way worse....So i'm asking, without dynamat cause i'm about speed first and i don't want all the extra weight, is there anything anyone's done to quiet down the trunk? I was thinking about buying some Rubber blockes like the 2 black ones that are on the trunk already and drilling them in in pieces alittle bigger than the two that are there already so that the trunk close with way less clearance, anyone done this or something similar or better?

i installed secondskin damplifier in my trunk. 50 sq ft. weights 19lbs and covered my entire trunk with 2 layers in some places. here is a picture of my trunk. copy and paste the link or drag it to the address bar. http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/Cooljt1...skin_trunk.jpg

yeah i have dynomat behind the license plate...The main rattle seems to be the airspace between the outside of the trunk and the inside... I mean the area behind the "maxima" lettering on the trunk vibrating....if i push on that with my hand the rattling quiets alot, strangly though if i push down on the trunk it doesn't help much only if i push forward

What I found out was its the key hole mechanism in the trunk lid, there is a rod that connects the keyhole to the latch and thats whats vibrating.

My solution was to tape that rod down so it wont move BUT you will no longer be able to open the trunk with the key but thats what the remote and door trunk pop is for

for my quote to work you need to just cut and paste into the address bar.

That sounds good to me, cause i can't use my key to open my trunk anyway, never could (shrug) i was thinking of shaing it eventually anyways.... Is that key latch you taped easy to get to?

Personally I think 75% of the rattles are coming from the rear deck lid. I still need to apply the second skin on my trunk lid. As far as the license plate goes, I have a peice of box carpeting on the back and I cant tell if its making any noise.

if you take off the gray plastic liner off the lid you can see the mechanism behind there and reach it pretty easly. I just taped the metal rod thats there because it moves alot which is why its making alot of noise. think theres 2 rods in there
