How can I connect LEDs to blink with my alarm

I want to conenct two LEDs to put on the dash, one on each side, so that they blink when my alarm is armed, sort of as a deterrence showing theives and people that I have an alarm. Is there a way I can connect them to do so? The stock LED (located at the left of the steering wheel) doesnt blink with my aftermarket alarm (Prestige), at least not that I have seen. Do I need mroe than just LEDs for this? maybe a relay of some sort? let me know thanks!

There are different kinds of scanners on the market available (choose the pattern, choose the speed).
Can be connected to an aftermarket alarm. It should come with 3 wires: power, ground and alarm/ignition output.

Just an example (the cheapest are just $9):

all you need is the LEDs with correct resistors, then wire the positive side of the resistor to the pos of the stock alarm led and ground the other
