Rear Speakers wont turn on...

Alright...Heres the deal. I got my Maxima a new aftermarket Head Unit. I went to turn it on and the The dash lights, tail lights, and rear speakers wouldn't come on. Everything else were ok(Front speakers, Antenna, etc.) So, i took it back apart and saw that the harness had a huge crack/rip right in the middle of it. SO i went to the store, brought a new one and went back home. I reinstalled it and everything else turned on except the rear speakers. I checked all the fuses and they are alright. I checked the fader and balance on the head unit, their alright. I'm now alittle ****ed and dont wont to take it to somewhere.

Does anyone have any ideas, tips, and/or answers to my problem?

Heres a side note: My step dad just tried a Circuit Tester on the speakers and he thinks they're not getting any power.

Well, theres a problem with that....the reason i got a new head unit because my brother(thats who i bought it from) took his old head unit with him when he sold it to me. I called him and he said that they worked great when he had it. And i did check my wiring and everything is connected.

check to make sure you did not accidentally cut the speaker wire anywhere.

On the speaker itself or in the wire harness?

what brand headunit did you install?

i know on certain model PIoneers there is an option to cut the rear speakers off inorder to have sub controls active... that may be your problem. Either that or you have a speaker in the back that is grounding out possibly.

Took the Head Unit back out and checked again. The only wires that were not used were the Illumination, AMP on, and Dimmer wires. Those were from the Nissan Harness. On the Aiwa harness, all the wires were used. There was no place to even connect it to. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Should i splice that wire to another one?

Well....Problem solved....Kinda. I looked at my harness and took the wire that powered the power antenna and connected it to the AMP on wire. When that happened, the rear speakers came on but now i can't use my antenna. Any way i can use both?

Check here http://www.geocities.com/craigbrace/ It might give you some ideas. Look under the 'how to' section. It might have something to do with the factory amp in the trunk.

Been there, done that. I can get my rear speakers to work but i would have to sacrifice the use of my power antenna. Can i just use the same wire to power both?
