Decent Sub and Amp
Decent Sub and Amp
I really dont much about subs and amps and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a alpine 7893, kappa 63.5 in front, and some MA 6x9's in the rear. Im looking for something not to large, so I can still have lots of trunk space. Any ideas?
Well, here's what I just did:
Installed a Soundstream EGA2300 ($129) amp under the passenger seat and built a 32" wide x 13" tall x 10" deep box that sits right behind the rear seat for two 10" Alpine Type R subs ($99 each). For reference, when installed, it comes roughly to the back of the BOSE speaker magnets mounted in the rear deck (not far at all). Still leaves plenty of room.
The box is divided into 2 chambers, and the amp is bridged mono at 600 Watts x 1. RMS rating of each sub is 300 Watts, so hopefully this works out perfectly. Box is mounted to 2x4s attach to trunk bottom, and I have it attached to these boards and the rear seat in a way such that I can disconnect the quick-release speaker connections and remove the box if I need the pass-thru.
Subs arrive this week, so I haven't had a chance to test it, but I'll let you know how it sounds.

Sounds intense.....is it better to get just one bigger sub or two smaller ones? Oh I dont want to spend more then 300 if possible.
I would look into a self contained sub and amp. infinity basslink, bazooka basstube ect. can prob. pick one up for around $300
Possibly:
