Bose HU with aftermarket amp & speakers?
Bose HU with aftermarket amp & speakers?
I recently had my fosgate amp (4CH) installed along with infinity components up front, infinity 2ways in rear, and a 12 in sub in the trunk.
The fosgate amp is running the entire bit, but sounds like crap now that its running off the factory bose head unit. I had this same setup in my 95 max with an aftermarket HU and it hit hard. Why am I experiencing so much distortion and engine noise. Is it because I'm using one of those line level converters ( I'm guessing its a cheap a@# one as it was installed by the dude wo installed my system). My car is a 2001 Max se and if anyone can help PLEASE i would appreciate it. I've read rumblings on the forums about a PAC adapter and some line level driver from linkmeup.com. Does anyone know which is better? I need input FAST! Thanks.

the bose system is basically designed to never be touched, meaning if you want to change something, change everything or nothing. put in an aftermarket HU, everything will change. the bose HU is speficially designed to run the 1 ohm bose speakers. definitely get rid of the bose HU and you wont ahve a problem
