amplifier power then not

i have a jbl amp, and i recently had a friends box hooked up to it to make sure his subs worked, which they did..........then he disconnected the wires and there was a spark, and now my amp is acting really weird. its got a red light which signifies a problem, and a green light which means its working fine.......the red light is on, but the green light comes on dimly then goes all the way on and my subs work for about 1 second, then the green goes away again. any ideas on what happened??

Did you check the fuses on the amp and on the power wire. I would say pull them out and look at it closely.

you tripped the overload switch.. usually it resets itself after you turn off the power for a few minutes.. if not..your still tripping it..check your screws that screw down the speaker wires.. i bet your have the screws touching one of the other channels your grounding it out..make sure nothing touches each other.. the spark i wouldn't worry about if you have the right fuses it would short out before any damage...
