i have a 94 GXE and was thinking about putting something behind the armrest. i was thinking cut out the cardboard, etc a replace it with osb, presswood,or somthin, carpet it, and put in 2 6 1/2s or bass ports or mount a small amp with accent lights around it. has anyone seen anything like this? do you think it will work? tell me what u think...

yeah I have my amp there facing you when u open the arm rest. I did put a neon there over the amp but later took it out cause I already had neons in the back and it was bright enough

jon, like the box, but i dont want just a big square hole, what i meant by ports, were 1 or 2 actual 2 or 3 in. ports mounted there. i dont know if it would help on bass.....just an idea nismo: was this hard, how did it look, and how did you set it up? thanks guys

It is not completly sealed yet. I cut the board to fit tight enough that i had to hammer it in there, the subs are in their own indepent boxes and a little gap where the spare tire well is, i plan on replacing it with another MDF board.
For better sound quality use MDF board and not plywood. Plywood allows air to get in to it. Just my $.02

not hard at all. I screwed the amp to a wood board and had it put up against the back facing the hole. The neon was also screwed to the board right above the amp so you cant see it so only the light shows through. I did have to solder another 6 feet of wore to the neon to reach the front of the car though. Ill try to get pictures once I get them out of my digital camera.
