Bazooka tube w/ amp question- is "turn-on loop" just a continuous wire?

On a Bazooka EL tube w/ the built-in amp, is "turn-on loop" just a continuous wire that is detachable? I bought one used and it was missing the loop part- can I just make a splice myself?

Bazooka tech support never answers the phone.
