Re: Alarm Install
Re: Alarm Install
Can anyone offer any words of advice on installing car alarm? I have performed many many car audio installs with Multimedia, subs, EQ, amp, etc., but this seems like it might be a big jobs with lots of wires. I think I can handle the amount of wires but it might be the relays, resistors, and diodes that are my downfall.
Anyway, should I do it myself or pay teh $$$to have it installed?

what kind of alarm? whatr features you installing? believe me alarms are not all that complicated i can give you the main harness diagram for your car so you know which wire is power, acc, ignition, starter, parking lights, etc... which will make it easier..
just make sure to plan a good amount of time for your first install, soldier all connections the right way, and take your time! =] hit me back if you want the diagram or more help

Well, I have not purchased an alarm yet. I had an Alpine alarm a few years ago and like it very much so I will look to get another. I just want the basic keyless entry, trunk release, and the pins in the doors, hood, trunk. I will be installing it on a '96 Maxima 5spd. Any help would be appreciated.
alpine alarms are alright, over priced though
