thumping noise coming from sub?????

When I turn my cd players volume all the way down, I hear my sub making a thumping noise and static, when I turn the volume up, I still here it faintly in the back of the music because it makes the beat sound off key. Does anyone know why this is and any solutions???

Did you try reversing the polarity on the power inputs on the back of your box. I had a similar problem. Just try switching the wires around...I know it sounds stupid, but just try it. It's worth a shot.

Peace, TI

either reversed wires or a short in the amp. happend to a pal of mine. the rca input had a short in it but it would do that outta blue. he opened it a resoldered it. if u can wiggle the rca input on your amp this may be happening to you
